Oh my goodness...

I can't believe that I am just getting back to updated my blog... What I thought was going to be a weekly blogger, became a monthly blogger :) Anyway, so much has happened since my blog was up and running, and I hope to start updating it more.

Since my very first blog experience, I have been to Prison with our Prison Ministry at church, and it what an awesome experience it was. We took the train from Pontiac to Chicago on a Friday (long ride, with lots of stops) beginning around 5:00 am and arrived in Chicago early evening, got settled at the hotel, ate dinner, and tried to get some z.z.z.z! As we were leaving for the Cook County Prison early around 6:00 am Saturday morning to be with the inmates all day, then back on the train late night, arriving ack in Pontiac around 2:00 am on Sunday morning. To sum it all up, it was amazing to sit and talk with the women inmates and just listen to their hearts tugging for the Lord, and I would love to do it again!!

I also started a new part-time job making PASTIES at "Uncle Peter's" Deli on Sashabaw in Clarkston... (only 5 minutes from home) and just love it!!

And, we just got news that our daughter Keri and her family have been offered a promotion/opportunity for a 2 year move to China. And, since Tonya our other daughter and her family are currently over seas in Thailand for a 2 year work related move... (& were previously in Japan for 2 years) that would make the sisters closer to each other, as they miss each other and it is a long trip and very expensive to travel. Thank goodness for SKYPE & PRAYER which keeps us close, in thought and over the internet as well.

Tonight Sunday, October 10th Dennis and I have tickets to see "Antebellum" at the Fox Theatre, which I am very much looking forward to! Hope to talk to you soon with more updates :)

Can you believe it... Labor Day weekend, and school starting! Summer just seems to go by so fast. I am thanking God for a beautiful morning, and a nice cool breeze following about 5 weeks of very hot weather for Michigan, which has kept my hubby steadily busy with Air Conditioning calls... I guess God is preparing us for the hot weather in Thailand... which we hope to do in February 2011.
Next week I will be going to Chicago by train with our Church Prison Ministry, for the first time. I've always wanted to take the train to Chicago, but who would've thought my first train ride to Chicago would be to visit inmates at the Cook County Jail... another stepping "out of my box", and doing something I have thought about for the past couple years. Yes, I am a little nervous, but also very much looking forward to it :) See ya... My Daily Thread ~ Linda
